Patty Wurster brings a background in toy design, education, and fine arts to writing and illustrating children's books. She is the Illustrator Coordinator for the SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators) New York West-Central Upstate Region. She is also a Buffalo Niagara Children's Writers and Illustrators member. As a Project Artist at Fisher Price-Mattel, Inc., Patty managed artwork for preschool toys for 5 years. She especially loves designing elementary school-age characters in her current illustrations

 

Patty has been an exhibiting member of the Buffalo Society of Artists since 2017. Her paintings have been included in regional, national, and international exhibitions. Patty currently paints landscapes and enjoys exhibiting in the Buffalo area.

Patty Wurster holds an MFA in Painting from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN, and a BFA in Painting from Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. Additionally, she has a New York State Art Teaching certification with over ten years of teaching experience (Pre-K through College). She is a trained EPIC (Every Person Influences Children) Parenting Workshop Facilitator.
